Paris Carnival 2018

Paris Carnival is back this Sunday February 11, 2018. This years, children and adults are invited to parade with a free theme: “Tales of Perrault and from elsewhere”.

If you enjoy dressing-up and parading in Paris streets, meet on Sunday February 11, 2018 for the 21st edition of the world-famous Paris Carnival!

And no need to say that, this year again, Paris Carnival organizers decided to put on a great spread with a theme likely to trigger everyone’s imagination: Tales of Perrault and from elsewhere.

So, to experience this unique moment, meet on Sunday February 11, 2018 from 1 p.m., in Place Gambetta in Paris 20th arrondissement. The procession will leave from 2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. for a route going by Belleville to the place de la République.

Detailed route:

  • Place Gambetta (Metro station Gambetta), Paris 20th arrondissement, 2 p.m.
  • Avenue Gambetta towards Ménilmontant
  • Place Auguste Métivier
  • Boulevard de Ménilmontant (right)
  • Boulevard de Belleville
  • Left: rue du Faubourg-du-Temple
  • Arriving in Place de la République

The arrival is planned at 5 p.m., but please note that the party goes on until 8 p.m. in Place de la République.

And don’t forget either that, on Sunday March 11, 2018, another traditional Paris Carnival parade: the procession of the Reines des Blanchisseuses at mid-Lent, the Carnaval des Femmes. Women are invited to dress up as queens and men in women, if they dare.
