Paris Carnival is back on Sunday February 14, 2021. The organizer has already asked for the permission of the Paris Police Headquarters and on that day, children and adults are invited to parade with a theme: “Mythical and legendary creatures”. Will the celebration be held despite coronavirus? Let's meet in the next months.

Amid confinement, some people feel defeated. This is the case of the organizers of the fantastic Paris Carnival, expecting you again on Sunday February 14, 2021 for a great 24th edition!

While many of you will be busy getting ready for Valentine's Day, Paris Carnival organizers are throwing a crazy parade surrounded by mythic and legendary creatures. Yet, we can wonder how it will evolve as coronavirus has no known treatment nor vaccine.

Every year, the Paris Carnival Promenade du Boeuf Gras parades on the Sunday before Mardi Gras meaning on Sunday February 14, 2021. Organizers have already asked permission to the Police Headquarters.

As for the route, meet at 2 p.m. at the place Gambetta to leave with the cortege. The parade plans to arriver towards 5 p.m at the Place de la République.

Paris Carnival 2021, route: (subect to change)

  • Avenue Gambetta towards Ménilmontant
  • Place Auguste Métivier
  • To the right, boulevard de Ménilmontant
  • Boulevard de Belleville
  • To the left, rue du Faubourg-du-Temple
  • End of the parade at 5 p.m. on the Place de la République

The parade could stay up to 8 p.m., except possible change. End of the party and break-up at 8 p.m.

For the record, this carnival is a festive event that is free, voluntary, free of charge, traditional, independent, self-managed, not-for-profit and non-subsidized. Everyone is welcome! You don't have to sign up to be part of it. You can decide at the last minute to take part in it or not, you can follow the parade on a portion of the route or not. You can choose whatever spot you want in both processions. It's the real carnival not a street show.

And don’t forget either that, on Sunday March 14, 2021, another traditional Paris Carnival parade: the procession of the Reines des Blanchisseuses at mid-Lent, the Carnaval des Femmes. Women are invited to dress up as queens and men in women, if they dare.
