During the Christmas break 2021 and the Holidays, the Château de Fontainebleau plays the magical card in order to mesmerize young and older visitors. Discover the program thought up for families especially on the occasion.
During children’s Christmas break, the Château de Fontainebleau does every effort and hosts entertainments for children and adults in its historical setting. Come along and discover the castle featuring its greatest decorations for the Holidays: a giant Christmas tree wonderfully decorated and twinkling lights in the chateau courtyard are expecting you. From December 18, 2021 to January 2, 2022, enjoy the parks and gardens of the Château to enjoy a walk and have fun with your family.

The Balthasar neumann ensemble and conductor Thomas Hengelbrock deliver four shows which program will travel across Europe. Enjoy traditional Nordic singing, Spanish villancios, Russian songs and carols written by J.S. Bach.

- "Il était une fois... Les contes de Perrault" Christmas show
From Sunday December 19 to Friday 31, excluding December 21, 25 and 28
Before writting the tales at the end of his life, Charles Perrault occupied many functions at the court of King Louis XIV and stayed at the Château de Fontainebleau several times. The Christmas show has been staged by Diapason and enables to rediscover three stories by the famous writer: the mischievous Puss in the Boots, the sweet Donkeyskin and the brave Little Thumbling. Children and adults will be delighted by the original version of the tales from the 17th century. The two actors of the Duo Diapason (Aline Franciscovich and Christophe Leray) bring energy and a breath of fresh air. Share these magical and happy moments with your family!

From Saturday December 18 to Friday 31, 2021
Princesses coming from the cold, Marie Leszcynska and Hélène Mecklembour-Scherin will disocver the life at the French court when marrying king Louis XV, the other son of king Louis-Philippe. These two weddings will be celebrated at the castle. The Princesses from the North come with the tradition of Christmas trees.
From December 18 to 31 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., excluding on December 25 and on Tuesdays.
Recommended to children from 4 to 10 years of age.

Horse-drawn carriage tours and train tours are available to see the park. Make the most of the occasion to enjoy a bark ride on the Etang aux carpes. The "Un palais pour l'Empereur, Napoléon Ier à Fontainebleau" exhibition is still running during the Holidays, do not miss it!
