This is the 31st anniversary of this event created by the Association française d’astronomie (AFA - French Astronomy Association). Over 250 astronomy clubs, tourism offices, holiday centers, city halls, have joined in and offer over a hundred events in France.
This year, the Moon will not be out for the weekend of August 5, 6 and 7, 2022, and despite the major light pollution in Île-de-France, the capital city and its surroundings take part in this event for budding astronoms, entirely free of charge and open to all, children and adults! And if you happen to be away for these star-gazing nights, the AFA offers about twenty privileged moments all summer long in the parks and gardens of the capital city!
Although the moon will be up on the 6th, the sky will be visible, if the weather is good! Perfect to look at the Perseids, these shooting stars that seem to come from Perseus. Constellations of the summer triangle - Aquila, Cygnus, and Lyra - will enable you to get oriented!
