After 5 years of renovations, the Musée de la Monnaie de Paris opens its doors to the public on September 30, 2017, showcasing the minting workshops and creations of coins, medals and objets d'art, in the center of Paris!

For over 1,200 years, the Monnaie de Paris has been one of France's great institutions, responsible for the manufacture of coins. The Monument du 11 Quai de Conti may not have been familiar to Parisians before 2014, with the introduction of the Galerie d'Art and Guy Savoy's 3* restaurant, but the Monnaie de Paris has been there since 1775.

The 11 Conti project aims to make the Monnaie de Paris a place of discovery and promenade, but also a center of excellence and attraction on the banks of the Seine: contemporary art gallery, boutiques, Guy Savoy's 3* restaurant, the garden, the MétaLcafé, concept stores and now the minting workshops open to the public.

While 150 craftsmen still work the metal there, from September 30, 2017, this secret place in the capital will be unveiled to Parisians, who will be able to visit this exceptional heritage, its priceless collections made of Louis d'Or, Hué treasure, its palace and manufacture!

Along the way, you'll learn how countries such as France create their coins and other hallmarks, medals and objets d'art, with craftsmen spending months working the metal.
