The Musée Cognac-Jay offers to awaken the youngest to art with its exhibition "L'enfance des lumières" for children aged 7 to 11 and free for all to discover from April 12 to July 29, 2018.

The world ofart can sometimes seem inaccessible to children! The Musée Cognacq-Jay is on a mission to awaken the artistic fibre in our toddlers with a free, interactive exhibition for children aged 7 to 11, entitled"L'enfance des lumières", which can be seen until July 29, 2018.

The Musée Cognacq-Jay has long been interested in the perception of childhood and its evolution from the 18th century to the present day. This new exhibition allows it to take the theme even further, offering a visit not only about childhood but also tailored to younger children and families to take a look at what life was like for a 17th-century child.

The exhibition is divided into 5 themes, linked by a giant"Game of the Goose" carpet created especially for the occasion.

The exhibition takes us on a journey of discovery through the life of an 18th-century child:

  • The family,
  • education,
  • Play,
  • health

In addition to the self-guided exhibition, the museum offers other family activities on selected dates:
