As it happens every year, the Château de Fontainebleau holds its traditional carnival in February. This year, two dates are planned: Sunday February 9 and Sunday February 16, 2020.
Is there anything better than discovering the history of this wonderful Renaissance castle by travelling back in time to live a day like our ancestors used to? This is what the Château de Fontainebleau offers the first weekend of the winter break.
As a matter of fact, children are invited to come costumed like princes and princesses from the 17th century for a festive afternoon during which they can introduce themselves to fencing, dance and go into the universe of a costumed dance from the Renaissance.
All afternoon long, they will be also invited to take part in creative workshops or makeup sessions to perfect their outfit.
Introduction to dance and Renaissance dance: 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Between Branle, pavane and other volta, you can share the pleasure of dancing together.
By Compagnie Outre-Mesure
Fencing demonstrations and workshops: from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Introduction to curtesy, introduction to fight technics (along with a fencing partner, technics supervised by a weapon master), duel demonstrations with one or two weapons.
Crown workshop: from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. free access according to number of seats available
Makeup: from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. free access according to number of seats available
In other words, a lovely program for a delighting family outing between culture, history and fun.
