Sophie de Bernardi has decided to take children and adults to an irresistibly mischievous universe thanks to her Easter 2019 creation designed for Paris Café de La Paix and Hôtel InterContinental Paris Le Grand.
The talented female pastry chef has been inspired by the hotel mascot, the Ourson Alfred [Alfred teddy bear] – named after the Grand Hôtel architect, Alfred Armand – for her Easter 2019 creation. He’s modelled on an adorable chocolate figure mainly designed for children (but not only!).
The inspiration? According to the young chef, “something real, good and homemade […]. Something cute and childish. Easter is first and foremost to delight children”. Successful challenge since this little bear perfectly mixes sweetness, jest and appealing character.
Sophie de Bernardi has chosen to work a Riachuelo 51% milk chocolate coating coming from Brazil. A complex chocolate and high in cocoa that combines the smoothness of milky notes, with caramel flavors and touches of red berries and roasted cocoa.
But you know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. This cute bear is actually more delicious than it appears. As a matter of fact, it contains many surprises! A whole bunch of small milk chocolate and dark chocolate bells as well as mini-eggs including some stuffed with fruit jelly.
Also, on Sunday April 21, 2019 you should know that two themed-events are held.
At Café de la Paix, a big Easter brunch gives pride of place to chocolate in all its shapes and sizes. While a life-size egg hunt expects children under the glass roof of Hôtel InterContinental.
