The café is too well located, in a pedestrian cul-de-sac, close to a park, in a huge 200m2 space. The two moms behind Petite Forêt, Laura and Kaja, fell in love with the place, a little out of their budget, but with great potential for their desire.
This magical place is like a café, with a play area and workshop corner. Accessible at any time of day for a coffee break or a chat with friends, Petite Forêt doesn't want to be labeled as a stroller café, but as a neighborhood café open to everyone. Even so, the tables speak for themselves: the place is inclusive, with baby chairs at many tables, and children running around barefoot. No judgement here, as that would be inappropriate, especially as the children in question are the children of the owner of the place.
This kind of living space for parents and children is very much in vogue in Germany, somewhere between a café-poussette and a "mother membership". There's a lack of them in France, even though cafés-poussettes andplay areas have been opening up more and more recently. When we arrive, German mothers are present with their babies, crawling around the room or running on a wooden car, and another mother is reading while her daughter enjoys a workshop in the adjoining large room. An air bubble offered all year round, with different themes. The idea is to come and take a breather, chat and enjoy a good time without worrying about other people's eyes or your baby.
The fun happens over a cup of coffee and a small menu of cakes. Cookies, brownies and cakes for the moment, although a brunch menu with acai bowls and porridges is planned. For the little ones, Petite Forêt offers dishes from Popote, and fresh fruit! You can spend as little as 20 minutes or as much as four hours, paying only for drinks and workshops.
Forêt verte organizes workshops for children, but also for parents. Sophrology workshops, first-aid workshops, musical workshops... A range of activities that these moms missed out on, as they found themselves in playgrounds before setting up their own business, six years later.
We really recommend this café, which provides a soothing, guilt-free bubble of air, with its small library, Montessori motor skills area, and boutique space with top concepts, validated by these moms. PS: the café is also available for birthday parties, starting at 500 euros for a party for 10 children with snacks, and 1000 euros for the entire 200m2. We'll make a note of the address!
