In Issy-les-Moulineaux, at the gates of Paris, a nice concept is hidden behind Rosechou, a space that wants to accompany young fathers and mothers during their maternity and paternity leave.
This family place is the idea ofÉlodie, a woman from Issé who was looking for a similar initiative when she had her first and then her second child. "I was lucky to have healthy children, but I needed to share with other moms, to find a place to rest with my newborn," she says, explaining why Rosechou was conceived this way.
Legend has it that little girls are born in roses and little boys in cabbages, as if by magic. Rosechou takes its name from this pretty legend that we have been told since the dawn of time, but the reality is far from being the polished story of perfect maternity. "Here, we come as we are, especially not dressed up, it's not the school of the perfect mother, it's a place of exchange and support", explains Élodie.
And that's what she wants to emphasize with this space where parents come to take a breather, have a hot coffee and leave their baby in a deckchair to drink it. It doesn't matter if your baby is crying, if you are exhausted or even if you have a coffee craving, there is no judgment: Rosechou is also the place to let out all the pressure that parenthood generates. Besides, if you are still hesitating to take the plunge with your baby, you can attend the Café des Mamans, every Tuesday at 3pm: it's free, and there is a good chance that it will do you a lot of good!
So, as soon as you walk in the door, you can enjoy thecosy and warmatmosphere and the 5-star welcome of Élodie, who serves you by the minute, remains available to talk about baby's problems or to joke with the regulars. In fact, it's a beautiful story that she has been weaving with them since the opening of the place, a little over two years ago now: "What's magical is that my clients come back pregnant with their second child or once they've given birth, whereas at the very beginning, they came to Rosechou for their first," she confides.
Here, you can take advantage of the workshops to learn about baby massage, baby first aid or even participate in more creative activities with them, such as baby yoga, sensory awakening up to the age of two... The teachers are qualified professionals, like Manon, who patiently teaches you to massage baby with perfumed oil, for a beautiful moment of complicity with your newborn.
The place really wants to accompany the new parents and there are many workshops to learn more about the sleep of the little ones, to be trained in the physiological carrying... Essential initiations to understand and evolve at the same time as your baby, with a whole team of speakers present on the spot, including midwives, nurses, psychologists... To prepare for maternity/paternity or to accompany those who are in the midst of it.

Moreover, Rosechou is not only a café, it is above all a café-boutique which includes a baby boutique where you can buy all the essentials, before or after his arrival. Cosmetics, clothes, bottles, nightlights and other baby accessories are sold on site. Many of the products in the boutique are made by local designers and almost all the brands are French or European.
Élodie also offers this search for local products on her menu, with coffee roasted in Issy-les-Moulineaux, pastries made by Julie and Cakes, a pastry chef based in Issy who offers her organic cakes, like the delicious pear-chocolate cake, Parisian tea, the famous dookies (cookies that are all the rage, offered by a pastry chef from Clamart), savory dishes made in a laboratory in Boulogne...
As for coffee, the coffeeshop offers a varied menu, created with fresh products, coming as much as possible from short circuits. You can find the classic coffees, cappuccino, but also, more comforting drinks with matcha latte, chaï latte, golden latte... And a nice sweet offer with pieces of pie, cookies, cakes and other cinnamon rolls for a really greedy break! A nice collection of teas, infusions and fruit juices are also on the menu. At lunchtime, you can opt for a savory dish at €12.50, which Élodie serves beautifully. On the menu: really generous portions, but above all, quality ingredients, prepared in a super balanced dish. Vegetarian options are on the menu every week, otherwise you still have the sure values with the excellent salmon steak and its sour cream, accompanied by cranberry boughour or the chicken penne and its fresh basil sauce. Ideal for an on-the-go, quality and particularly nutritious lunch!
