After the Cité des Sciences and the Palais de la Découverte, families can improve their scientific knowledge at Science Expériences, a brand-new space devoted to sciences in Bercy Village, at the crossroad between museum and theme park, and created by a scientific committee.
As for the others, Science Expériences shines a special light on sciences to make it entertaining and allow children to learn by playing, thanks to immersive and innovative fashions such as virtual reality, video mapping and emotional and multi-sensory presentations. In all, 850sqm of space expect you and invite you to travel to the heart of the impossible!
From the very ends of the universe of the abyssal depths, including the center of the earth and the human body, sciences are approached in a wide way through disciplines such as medicine, biology, volcanology, astrophysics, marine biology or even quantum physics (designed by James Mcqueen) and experiences focusing on teleportation (by HyperHOL), levitation and lasers.
Here are spaces you can enjoy:
Visitors are welcomed by a hologram of Albert Einstein who presents elements to enjoy along the tour in an innovative fashion.
In a decor made of constellations, visitors travel to the very ends of the universe thanks to an exclusive movie screened in virtual reality or in an auditorium. A new planetarium model likely to fascinate children and adults.
Visitors are invited to discover “the fascinating world of the abysses in a multi-sensory immersion”. Wrapped in sounds and pictures from the abysses, the surprising fun facts about this part of the world are bone-chilling.
Thanks to immersive video mapping, the Volcano Room is unique and interactive and takes visitors to the very center of the Earth, all the way down to the pit before spurting them up during a volcanic eruption.
For the first time, one can compare their heights to Robert Wadlow’s – the tallest man ever (8.9 feet) and discover the secrets of one’s body thanks to several audio systems. Carnovsky’s work also shines a light on bones, muscles, and the neural system of the human body.
In a verdant and enchanted décor, through a game – a wheel of fortune and a quiz – visitors will access contents about plants’ extraordinary powers and exceptional flowers.
In a manga-inspired background, visitors will have to face the 400,000 volts of a Van De Graaf generator. It will knock your socks off!
In the fascinating world of quantum physics, visitors discover the secrets of laser, quantum levitation and teleportation (quantum entanglement), along with a boost shot at the end.
Harnessed to a structure over 13-feet high, young visitors can enjoy the moon gravity by walking on the moon, wearing a virtual reality headset. This experience is provided by two French astrophysicists, Amaury Solignac and Vincent Rieuf.
Note you can already reserve. And this is a fabulous occasion to improve your knowledge whilst having fun… Shall we discover sciences, then, friends?
