Château de Vaux le Vicomte bends over backwards to offer family an exceptional Easter weekend. An aglow castle, wonderful landscaped garden, giant egg hunts and playful workshops for kids, here’s the cocktail likely to delight children and their parents.
So, what does this year’s program have in store?
First things first, save the date, Easter weekend is on Saturday March 31, Sunday April 1 and Monday April 2, 2018. Celebrations start at 10 a.m. at the château. This year, for Easter, Vaux le Vicomte invites you to its jardins à la française for an egg hunt in order to make Madame la Comtesse’s famous cake.
Wearing a toque, kids and adults will have to reach the subsequent stages of the treasure hunt of which, the finale stage is an egg hunt! Make-up, pony rides and chocolate sculptures exhibition are also provided to improve this family day even more.
Competitions based on speed, dexterity and skill await our little apprentice chefs in the 33 hectares of the jardin à la française designed by Le Nôtre. Children and adults leave for the 3 workshops to get the famous eggs needed to make Le Suave, the famous cake of Madame la Comtesse de Vogüé.
Once you’ve managed to complete the stages, you can access the famous final Egg Hunt promising chocolate surprises for all participants. Pasquier brioches will also be distributed to kids to encourage them throughout the competitions.
Of course, give all participants their chances according to their skills, adventure tours, sporting or playful, are grouped by age so that everyone can join in.
But at Vaux le Vicomte, children are not the only one entitled to an Egg Hunt. Adults have their own hunt to fulfill their chocolate needs. Speaking of good deals, the speediest and craftiest those who find the famous golden egg will win tickets for a wonderful Candlelit Evening at the château! (2 tickets at each Adult Egg Hunt / 7 Hunts per day)
But that’s not all, animations and exhibitions await you at the Château as well. Have a look at the exhibition of wonderful chocolate sculpture, the Easter table laid out and decorated by Villeroy & Boch and take part in riddles shaking up your sense of smell in the State Apartments.
Let’s not forget that kids can have their faces painted for free and we all know they love it. And we make the best of the day to have a pony ride in the gardens (with a supplement), it’s amazing.
Editorial board review: we gave it a go last year; this egg hunt is really perfect for children and adults. Egg hunts are suited by age, the château and its gardens are a wonderful setting, everyone will be happy and workshops really are playful. What else?
