"I wanted to create a place where parents and children could interact," says Marine Foulon, founder of Pépites de familles. In this particularly family-friendly town, she has been working for two years to open this 200 m² living space, where the whole family has its place, from newborns to older children.
"One of my main focuses is quality play time," explains Marine, who designed Pépites de familles around this idea, with a play area and, above all, numerous freely-accessible games. In the first part, Marine offers a fine selection of games and toys in theboutique area: in addition to finding great ideas for birth gifts, the selection ranges from plush toys, early-learning books and rattles for toddlers to creative workshops for older children, including imitation games, puzzles, board games and toy trains. All this, with a selection of eco-responsible and sustainable toys and games.
Then it's off to thecafé area, with its high chairs, breastfeeding cushions, baby mats and all the equipment needed to welcome families (and pregnant women), so you can warm up with a gourmet hot drink (latte, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, infusion...) and indulge in one of the delicacies from Maison Boka, a bakery inAsnières. Several gluten-free options are on offer, and you'll be spoilt for choice with excellent cookies, madeleines, muffins and other homemade cakes (as well as compotes in gourds, savoury or sweet if you prefer).
Finally - and this is the most playful part of the place - you arrive at the Labo des merveilles, the large play area of the premises. Here, play has its rightful place, with a dinette corner, a large toy train circuit, a table dedicated to creative workshops (for drawing, cutting, coloring, gluing...), a lovely space for construction games and a library! Access to this area is €8 per child when you visit, and it changes theme several times a year.
Finally, a workshop room is also open, offering sessions for kids from toddlers to primary schoolers, with playgroup sessions from 18 months, baby painters,art and cooking classes, baby gym... There's also pre-natal yoga for expectant mothers, and parenting workshops (baby first aid, moms meeting moms, babywearing...).
If you don't live in Colombes, Pépites de familles is just three Transilien stations away from the Saint-Lazare train station (and a two-minute walk from the Colombes train station). A beautiful address that is sure to become the future HQ of many families!
