Frappe is the name of a new bakery and patisserie that opened this year in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Solenn Le Squer and Thomas Padovan offer delicious artisan breads, gourmet viennoiseries, crazy Frappe Rolls and fine pastries.

Among the new bakeries and patisseries in Paris, we're off to discover Frappe, the new spot in the 11th arrondissement, which has set up shop at 7 rue Sedaine.

Frappe is the result of the ambition of a young couple with a passion for baking and sharing delicacies. It's a modern bakery and patisserie for all those who love good breads, pastries and delicious sandwiches, made with everyday products and prepared with love.

At the helm are Solenn Le Squer and Thomas Padovan. Does the name Le Squer ring a bell? Yes, she's the daughter of Christian Le Squer, 3-star chef of Le Cinq at the George V. While she's no stranger to the restaurant business, thanks in particular to her experience in events management at Potel & Chabot, it's Thomas Padovan he's turned to for his talents as a baker.

Having worked at the Plaza Athénée, the George V, Ducasse restaurants in Paris and New York, Angelina's and Kayser's, there's no shortage of experience for this talented craftsman, who has already been in the business for 15 years.

It's in a bright, modern corner bakery with a distinctly Parisian feel (witness the fresco on the ceiling) that you'll discover the breads, sandwiches, cookies and other viennoiseries and sweet treats from the power duo.

For its breads, the house uses mainly organic and local flours from Moulins Bourgeois in 77. There are some lovely creations reminiscent of Thomas's Corsican and Solenn's Breton origins, such as the Pain Bigoudène with buckwheat flour and Corsican honey.

Among the most popular viennoiseries is the Frappe Roll (4.80€), reminiscent of the Suprême, a New York dinguerie consisting of a rolled croissant dough richly filled with various flavors of pastry cream. Caramel, chocolate or hazelnut, can you resist?

Among the discoveries to be made, we also recommend the roulés and the Pain Perdu, a real treat. As for fine pastries, you'll be seduced by the generous Paris-Brest ( 6.50€), the lemon tart or the Chou Cappuccino (4.80€), which is a real knockout.
