It's a fixture in the French calendar, a time for convivial celebration shared throughout the country: France's national holiday takes place on July 14. The date commemorates the storming of the Bastille and the Fête de la Fédération, two important moments in the country's revolutionary history.
To honor this date, a number of events are organized every year: military parades, fireworks displays, concerts and firemen's balls, every town and village has its own sensational program to bring the inhabitants together for this great popular celebration.
The Fête Nationale is an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of many traditions, and reminisce about French history. And what better way to do so than with a firemen's ball at the Caserne Sévigné in the Marais?
Housed in theHôtel de Chavigny, this fire station was one of the first in Paris. It was created in 1814, following the infamous fire at the Austrian Embassy. In response to this criminal act, Napoleon I issued a decree creating a special military and professional corps, giving birth to the Paris fire department. The rue de Sévigné firefighters are now part of Paris history!
So, on July 13, 2024, don't hesitate: we're off to the Sévigné barracks to dance the night away, with the firefighters of the 4th arrondissement of Paris. The next day, the festivities continue on the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville, with the immutable July 14th concert.
July 14, 2025: the Paris Concert on the Champ-de-Mars, the program
To round off the Fête Nationale in style, the Orchestre National de France, the Maîtrise and the Chœur de Radio France are organizing a grand symphony concert on Monday July 14, 2025. After an edition organized on the parvis de l'Hôtel de Ville in 2024 due to the Olympic Games, this free concert returns to the Champ-de-Mars, opposite the Eiffel Tower. This year, Aida Garifullina, Julie Fuchs, Bruno de Sá, Dom La Nena and Gautier Capuçon are among the guests at the now legendary "Concert de Paris", 2025 edition. Discover the program! [Read more]
