It's an event the French love every year! Every year, in mid-July, the Fête Nationale is celebrated all over France. It's a way for the country to celebrate its attachment to the Republic and the values of liberty, equality and fraternity.
In fact, there's no shortage of events to mark the occasion, including firemen's balls in the barracks, the military parade on the Champs-Élysées and, of course, the fireworks that sparkle in the sky on July 13 and 14.
Every year, many Parisians try to get as close as possible to the Eiffel Tower to admire the traditional fireworks display. Elsewhere in the Île-de-France region, there's no shortage of fireworks displays either, as in Seine-et-Marne!

This summer, Melun comes alive with a friendly, colorful event: the guinguette returns, accompanied by the traditional fireworks display. Whether you're with family, friends or on your own, Melun's guinguette and fireworks display promises an evening full of joy, discovery and sharing. Come and experience a magical moment in the heart of the city, under the stars and the sparkle of the fireworks.
- A friendly guinguette atmosphere. From 6pm, head to Place Praslin for a festive evening of original entertainment, local music and gourmet delights! Right from the start of the evening, the City of Melun invites you to share a moment of complicity with your family: discover La Fabulotte, a creative trailer full of surprises, with a beading workshop to create necklaces, characters or colorful animals. A caricaturist will sketch your best smile for a unique souvenir. Have fun with the giant games: checkers, Jenga and many more! For photo enthusiasts, a guinguette photobooth awaits you in an unusual country setting... the perfect setting to immortalize this wonderful evening.
- A colorful musical evening. Place D, in partnership with the City of Melun, invites you to a colorful ball to the rhythm of local talent, with an eclectic and dynamic musical program. On stage, Melun artists Fredox and La Doxa will lead the evening, surrounded by energetic talents: Rue de la Môme pays tribute to Édith Piaf Holy and The Loop, a pop group with a contemporary sound Dance tableaux by Ida y Vuelta & Karie Danse Et Dylan with a DJ set to close the evening in style!
- Gourmet pleasures. Let yourself be tempted by a refreshing break: two refreshment stands offering sodas, fresh juices and other cocktails to satisfy every thirst! On the savoury side, sweet and savoury food trucks offer a wide range of dishes and delicacies: Jamaican-style grilled chicken, crêpes and galettes prepared with rigorously selected products, homemade ice creams inspired by the famous Thai ice creams, not forgetting the candy stand for those with a sweet tooth.
- Fireworks on the Promenade de Vaux. Join us at 11 p.m. for the fireworks, one of the evening's highlights. It will be visible from the Promenade de Vaux. This year, let yourself be carried away by the tale of Melun's 2,000-year history, for an experience that's both visual and historical.
