Couscous en folie
Couscous, France's favorite dish, is coming to Corbeil-Essonnes in a big way! On Sunday July 13, 2025, from 12pm to 10pm, Corbeil-Essonnes will be transformed into the couscous capital of the Ile-de-France, for the very first edition of the "Couscous en folie" festival organized by the town and the Corbeil-Essonnes Berber association, ABC D'ici et d'ailleurs. A popular and festive day, under the banner of sharing, unity and living together.
Aromas, colors and lots of good cheer
On the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville, the scent of spices will waft through the air. Light semolina, melting vegetables, tasty meats and fragrant fish, all spiced up with olive oil and spices from the sun. A tsunami of flavors that promises to take your taste buds on a journey!
A competition to elect the best couscous in the Paris region
The highlight of the day will be the culinary competition, with ten carefully selected restaurateurs from the Paris region competing for the coveted title of "best couscous in the Paris region". Each will be defending their expertise, their signature recipe and their love of this dish, a symbol of generosity. The jury, made up of professionals and gourmets, will have their work cut out for them.
A feast for all the senses
But the festival isn't just about food. There's also music, dance and the chance to discover local talent! Some twenty exhibitors will be showcasing their handcrafted creations: plenty of time to stroll around, exchange ideas and take home some lovely souvenirs. At the end of the day, a free concert will add to the atmosphere, before all eyes turn to the sky for the big fireworks display on July 13, at 11pm.
