Château de Chantilly celebrates the Château de Chantilly 2024 with a unique Halloween program from October 18 to November 3. Located near Paris, this historic site offers a variety of activities for the whole family: night-time torchlight tours through the château's dark rooms, creative workshops for children, gourmet Chantilly cream events and captivating exhibitions. Discover the château from a mysterious angle and enjoy a convivial autumn evening.
The festivities begin with Halloween Nights, when you can explore the castle in the dark by the light of a simple flashlight. This theatrical tour takes you on a journey of discovery of the castle's legends and mysteries, with an original itinerary through its most beautiful rooms.
Be warned, this unusual experience might just make your heart beat a little faster. Running from October 19 to November 2, these nocturnal tours take place every day except Tuesday and Sunday, from 7pm to 10:15pm. Reserved for brave souls aged 7 and over, places are limited to 30 participants per slot, with a departure every 15 minutes. Tickets must be booked in advance on the château's official website. Tickets cost €15 for adults and €12 for children. A fascinating and slightly frightening experience, not recommended for the faint-hearted!
Another highlight: unusual tours of the Musée Condé collections. From October 21 to 31, the château is offering captivating guided tours of the secrets of the Château de Chantilly, including the famous legend of the Dame Blanche, the château's ghost. Open to the whole family aged 7 and over, these 45-minute tours are held Monday to Friday, at 11am and 3pm. Price: €7 per person, and again, places are limited.
Children aged 5 to 8 will be delighted to take part in Halloween mask-making workshops on October 23 and 30 at 3pm. Supervised by an animator, they can give free rein to their imagination to create scary or amusing masks. Price: €7 per child, in addition to admission, with one free adult companion. Reservations required.
Gourmets won't want to miss the Autumn Flavors Chantilly Cream workshops organized by the Confrérie des Chevaliers fouetteurs. You'll learn how to make the famous cream by hand, and leave with your own pot, scented with autumnal flavours such as pumpkin cream or chestnut and rum cream. These workshops take place at the Grandes Écuries on October 19, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28 and 30, as well as November 1, 2 and 3. Prices: €18 for adults, €11 for young people aged 7 to 25. Don't forget to book!
At the same time, two flagship exhibitions will brighten up the vacations: Louise d'Orléans, First Queen of the Belgians ( October 19, 2024 - February 16, 2025) and Contemporary Bibliophily - Treasures from the Cabinet des Livres ( October 9, 2024 - March 10, 2025). The latter highlights a little-known aspect of the Duc d'Aumale's collections, which included an interest in books by contemporary artists. It features works by Camille Corot, Edouard Manet, André Masson and many others. Included in the 1-day ticket, this exhibition is a great opportunity to explore trends in modern bibliophily.
Last but not least, the equestrian show Un jour à Paris, on October 20, 24, 26, 27 and 31, takes spectators back to the hustle and bustle of the capital in 1900, at the time of the Universal Exhibition. An hour of spectacular performances combining riding, acrobatics and acrobatics under the majestic dome of the Grandes Écuries.
With its rich and varied program, Halloween at the Château de Chantilly promises unforgettable memories for the whole family, with thrills, discoveries and gourmet delights!
