Art and history lovers are expected at the Musée Cognacq-Jay for the 39th edition of European Heritage Days on Saturday September 17 and Sunday 18, 2022. The latter presents a rich collection of sculptures, furniture, paintings and other works of art gathered between 1900 and 1925 by the founder of La Samaritaine, Ernest Cognacq and his wife Marie-Louise Jay.
Make the most of this major cultural event to enjoy the Hotel de Donon housing the museum, as well as multiple paintings, sculptures, drawings and precious items collected by Ernest Cognacq. Great lover of art from the 18th century, the wealthy businessman now allows us to enjoy all that was in the Enlightenment in France.
The Musée Cognacq-Jay invites us to discover exceptional collections. This often little-known museum also surprises us with an unusual art program you do not want to miss! Make the most of the EHD 2022 to discover one of the gems in the Marais area and Paris.
European Heritage Days 2022, at the Musée Cognacq-Jay:
Welcome to the court: the Le Bal Marie-Laure Saint Bonnet company invites you to a merry and friendly ball celebrating the glory of the 18th century: allegoric ballet, dance steps, poems... Share light moments with a musician or a dance master, imagine you are a marquis or a duke, noble woman, favorite or gentleman.
Furniture, precious objects and porcelaines enable to discover trades of cabinetmaker, goldsmith and ceramicist whose creations climaxed in the 18th century.
Shall we go, friends?
