Once again this year, theOdéon - théâtre de l'Europe will be taking part. Founded in 1782, this theater has had many names in its history. The most important thing to remember is that it is one of France's five national theaters. It's an Italian-style venue steeped in almost 250 years of history. Some of the greatest plays in French literature have been staged here: The Marriage of Figaro, Ruy Blas, The Merchant of Venice, Rhinoceros and many others.

The Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe was built in 1782. It was the first monumental Parisian building devoted entirely to the art of theater. The Italian-style auditorium, the largest in Paris at the time, could accommodate 1,913 people; today it seats 800. The Odéon was listed as a historic monument on October 7, 1947.
