Every September , the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) bring together enthusiasts and the curious to discover our most beautiful treasures. This time, the cultural event takes place on the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025, in Paris and the Île-de-France region. It's the perfect opportunity to discover surprising places in the four corners of the Paris region, while taking advantage of a wide range of cultural activities , often free of charge, as well as original events for young and old! Whether you're a family, a couple, a group of friends or even a solo traveler, you're sure to find something to suit your taste thanks to this wide-ranging program! Indeed, museums, monuments, châteaux, and even places that are usually closed to the public , are taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine, celebrating their 42nd edition this year.
So why not take advantage of this exceptional weekend to invest in the Ile-de-France region? While Paris offers a rich program every year, the rest of theÎle-de-France region has nothing to be ashamed of! Heritage Days 2025 at the Musée des Avelines in Saint-Cloud
Born in Austria in 1755, Marie-Antoinette acceded to the French throne in 1774. An emblematic figure in history, she embodied both the splendor of the court and the upheavals that would lead to the Revolution. In 1785, the king acquired the Château de Saint-Cloud. The estate became a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Versailles. Drawings, engravings, objets d'art and furniture bear witness to his taste for interior design and the decorative arts, which became a veritable source of inspiration for designers from the 19th century to the present day.
Come and create an embroidery around Marie-Antoinette. Participants can bring a backing to personalize if they wish. Beginners welcome!

Heritage Days 2025 at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures in Saint-Cloud
Nestled in its green setting on the heights of the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, the Bureau international des poids et mesures (BIPM) coordinates the world's system of measurements. In 2025, it celebrated its 150th anniversary.
The BIPM will be opening its doors again in 2025 on the occasion of the European Heritage Days: an opportunity for everyone to visit this unique site.
Visitors will be offered a tour of the Pavillon de Breteuil, inaugurated by Louis XIV in 1672, and its formal gardens (Grand Parterre), as well as the BIPM's collection of antique instruments, enabling them to discover the great figures of science who have marked the BIPM's history.
Visits will take place in small groups (by reservation only) on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, 2025. Guided tours last around an hour and a half.
