The European Heritage Days, created in 1984 by the French Ministry of Culture, are a not-to-be-missed annual event for history and culture lovers. Every third weekend in September, monuments, museums, parks and other heritage sites open their doors to the public, often free of charge, to offer a glimpse into the history of France.
In Paris and the Île-de-France region, the Journées du Patrimoine 2025 once again promises a rich and varied program. Iconic sites not to be missed include, of course, the Palais de l'Élysée, backstage at theOpéra Garnier, and numerous guided tours of national museums.
The Maison Jean Monnet in Bazoches-sur-Guyonne is one of the Yvelines department's most important historical sites. The former residence of the father of Europe, Jean Monnet, this house, now a museum, is a place of remembrance dedicated to one of the European Union's leading architects.
With an audio guide, discover the living and working environment of one of the architects of today's Europe.
The Maison Jean Monnet is pleased to invite you to the "Champ de Couleurs" participatory workshop with artist Fabienne Veverka.
As part of the exhibition "L'esprit des lieux, l'invitation à la paix", young and old are invited to a moment of sensitive creation in the heart of the Maison Jean Monnet park.
Using paper, paint and flexible stems, each participant will create an imaginary flower - unique, colorful, expressive - to be planted freely in the garden.
Gradually, as if by magic, a meadow will reappear... A discreet tribute to the time when flowers covered Jean Monnet's garden, a field of peace that grows with each creation.
A poetic workshop, halfway between childhood and dreams, to bring flowers to a place with a bright future.

Paradeisos - Jardins européens offers a journey back in time around the thatched cottage, outbuildings, terraces, gardens and wooded park from the time of Silvia and Jean Monnet. In an intimate and inspiring setting, not so insignificant, nestled in the countryside of the Ile-de-France, and with its characteristic rurality, you'll also be able to share the work of associations over the last few years: the "European Citizen Garden", participatory history workshops, and the recreation of the Maison Monnet rose garden.
Vocal ensemble and piano concert, covers of European songs on the theme of Europe and peace in the unique setting of the Maison Jean Monnet.
