But in addition to its historic role, the Observatoire de Paris also continues to be a center for research and training in astronomy and astrophysics. For the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, on September 20 and 21, come and discover the Arago medallions, the meridian and equatorial telescopes in the gardens, the talking clocks room, the Council Chamber and its painted ceiling, the Grande Galerie and its antique instruments, the monumental Meridian room known asthe "Cassini room", the panoramic terrace with its breathtaking view over Paris, the Arago dome and its large astronomical telescope dating from 1855. Visitors will tour the Perrault building, guided by an astronomer. The hour-long tour takes in the museum, the meridian room and the roof, with a visit to the large dome.
