The Musée des Arts et Métiers is taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September 2023, with a free tour and activities that are a particular hit with children.

As part of the 39th Heritage Days, the Musée des Arts et Métiers is offering free tours and events focusing on the world's great inventions, for young and old alike. Join us on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023, to enjoy the program of this new edition of an unmissable cultural event.

The permanent collection at the Musée des arts et métiers is a big hit with children, because it takes them on a journey through time to discover the greatest inventions and techniques in scientific history: scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, mechanics and transport - thousands ofobjects that revolutionized their era are on display in a beautiful setting.

In all, the tour is divided into seven collections (scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, and mechanics and transport), subdivided into four chronological periods (before 1750, 1750-1850, 1850-1950 and after 1950). In addition, visitors can discover Lavoisier's laboratory, Foucault's pendulum and the automaton theater.
