Solidarity at source for RSA and activity bonuses

As of March 1, the system for declaring social benefits has been simplified. Recipients of the Prime d'Activité and the RSA will now be able to benefit from a system similar to that for tax returns, with a pre-filled declaration of resources on the CAF (Caisse d'Allocations Familiales) website.

A few changes on the tax front

Theincome tax scale has been adjusted in line with inflation. Income tax now starts at €11,498 in annual income, compared with €11,294previously.
The "Coluche" scheme, which provides tax relief for donations to associations helping people in difficulty, has also been extended, and now also covers actions to combat violence against women and domestic violence.
The "Loc'Avantages" scheme has also been renewed until 2027, enabling landlords to benefit from a tax reduction on condition that they offer housing at below-market rents to people on modest incomes.

New assistance for students

A monthly subsidy is now available for students "who do not have a local catering solution at a moderate price". This is a virtual prepaid card. The amount of this aid varies according to the student's situation.

Tobacco prices: ups and downs

For smokers, depending on the brand, some cigarette packs should see a general increase of around twenty cents. But surprise: for other references, the price of tobacco is also down by around twenty centimes. Details can be found on this page.

A higher penalty for the purchase of a polluting vehicle

As of March 1, the penalty for the purchase of a polluting vehicle is effective from 113 grams of CO2 emitted per kilometer, and the amount of this tax is increasing.

Time change
