Inter-union demonstration of May 1st 2023 in Paris: discover the route

The unions are not taking it lying down. After the validation of the text by the Constitutional Council and the promulgation of the law, the interunion intends to continue the movement by calling for a "popular tidal wave" on Monday, May 1, 2023. Discover the route of this new demonstration planned on the occasion of the thirteenth day of mobilization against the pension reform.

Every May 1st, there are many demonstrations all over France on the occasion of the Labor Day and the International Workers' Day. But those planned for Monday, May 1, 2023 are likely to be even more numerous and important than in previous years. Following the validation of the text by the Constitutional Council and after the promulgation of the pension reform by Emmanuel Macron, the intersyndicale does not intend to stop there. The CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, UNSA, CFDT, Solidaires, FSU, as well as the student unions are calling for a massive mobilization on May 1st.

In a press release published on April 14, the inter-union explains that it supports the actions and strikes that are underway and the local inter-union initiatives that will be decided locally. In addition, it calls " all workers, youth and pensioners to make May 1st a day of exceptional and popular mobilization against the pension reform and for social justice. " Such a unitary inter-union mobilization on work and pensions is historic in our country, it demonstrates the importance of having answers to the social and environmental challenges " write the unions.


On April 14, Sophie Binet, the new secretary general of the CGT, called for a " popular tidal wave " on May 1, 2023, while Laurent Berger of the CFDT, called in the columns of Le Parisien to " break (r) the house in number of demonstrators in the street " on May 1.

So, what is the route planned for this new and thirteenth day of mobilization against the pension reform? According to BFMTV, the demonstration will follow an emblematic route in Paris. The procession will start from the Place de la République to join the Place de la Nation, in the east of the capital. Stay tuned to discover the detailed route.
