Between inflation, taxes and issues surrounding President Emmanuel Macron's policies, the Gilets jaunes have many demands to make heard on the cobblestones of the capital. A new demonstration is planned in Paris this Saturday, April 13, 2024.
Demonstrators plan to gather in the early afternoon on the Place de la Bourse for a 2:30pm start, under the impetus of the"Union Gilets Jaunes IDF & Colère du Peuple" movement. Their demands include the introduction of the Référendum d'Initiative Citoyenne (RIC - Citizens' Initiative Referendum), France's exit from the European Union and NATO, opposition to the dispatch of military troops to Ukraine, an end to the generalized rise in prices, higher wages and pensions, an emergency financial plan for the public hospital system, and respect for the Munich Charter by the French media.
Next, the procession will head for rue Vivienne, boulevard Montmartre, rue du Faubourg Montmartre, then rue La Fayette and boulevard de la Villette, towards boulevard de Belleville, before turning onto boulevard de Ménilmontant, arriving at place Auguste Métivier.
The yellow vests detail their route and demands on their official website, as they do every week, and state that the demonstration has been accepted by the Paris police prefecture.
