Between inflation, taxes and issues surrounding President Emmanuel Macron's policies, the Gilets jaunes have many demands to make heard on the cobblestones of the capital. A new demonstration is planned in Paris this Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Demonstrators plan to gather from early afternoon on Place Joachim du Bellay(Fontaine des Innocents) for a 1:45pm start, led by the"Gilets Jaunes et Citoyens en Colère" movement. Their demands include the implementation of the Référendum d'Initiative Citoyenne (RIC), France's exit from the European Union and NATO, against the dispatch of military troops to Ukraine, an end to generalized price rises, higher wages and pensions, an emergency financial plan for the public hospital system, and respect for the Munich Charter by the French media.
The procession will then head down rue Berger, rue Saint Denis, boulevard Saint Denis, towards boulevard St Martin and rue René Boulanger, before turning onto rue de Lancry, quai de Valmy and rue du faubourg du Temple, for a finish at place de la République.
The Yellow Vests are detailing their route and demands on their official website, as they do every week, and point out that the demonstration has been approved by the Paris Prefecture of Police.
