Strike at the SNCF this Thursday, April 20: here are the traffic forecasts in the RER and Transilien

New day of strike against the pension reform this Thursday, April 20, 2023. So, what can we expect in public transport in Ile-de-France? We discover the traffic forecasts in the RER and on the Transilien network.

Will the new day of strikes and demonstrations against the pension reform, launched at the call of the CGT and scheduled for this Thursday, April 20, 2023, mobilize as much as the previous ones? For the moment, nobody knows. But in a new press release, the four SNCF unions indicate that they will continue to mobilize and announce " a day of expression of railway workers' anger " this Thursday.

Also, new disruptions are to be expected in public transport in Paris and the Ile-de-France this April 20, especially in the RER, but also and especially on the Transilien network. So what exactly can we expect? On its website, Transilien warns: due to a national industrial action,"train traffic will be disrupted on the Transilien lines on Thursday 20 April".

Traffic is expected to be"disrupted" on Transilien lines H, J and L, and"heavily disrupted" on line K. On the RER side, traffic is also expected to be complicated on RER lines C, D and E.

Traffic forecasts for the RER

  • RER A : normal traffic.

  • RER B : normal traffic.

  • RER C: traffic disrupted, expect 2 out of 3 trains.

  • RER D: traffic disrupted, expect 2 out of 3 trains on all routes. The interconnection will be maintained between Gare de Lyon and Châtelet les Halles.

  • RER E: traffic disrupted, expect 2 trains out of 3 on the axes:
    • Haussmann Saint-Lazare - Tournan
    • Haussmann Saint-Lazare - Chelles - Gournay

      On the Haussmann Saint-Lazare - Villiers sur Marne line, the work scheduled during the day is being maintained.


Traffic forecasts on the Transilien network

  • Line H: traffic disrupted, expect 2 out of 3 trains.

  • Line J: traffic disrupted, expect 2 out of 3 trains.

  • Line K: traffic heavily disrupted, expect 1 train out of 2. Please note that between 6.30am and 8.15am and between 4.30pm and 6.15pm, no trains will be running. Consequently, users are invited to go to Mitry-Claye to take the RER B which will be in normal service.

  • Line L: traffic disrupted, expect 2 out of 3 trains.

  • Line N: traffic disruption, expect 3 out of 4 trains.

  • Line P : traffic disruption, with 3 trains out of 4 on the Paris-Est - Meaux, Paris-Est -Coulommiers and Paris-Est - Provins routes, and 1 train out of 2 on the Meaux - La Ferté Milon route. Between Paris Est and Château-Thierry and between Esbly and Crécy la Chapelle, please note that traffic will be normal.

  • Line R : traffic disrupted, expect 2 trains out of 3 on average on the Paris - Montargis / Montereau via Moret route. Please note that 4 return trains are running between Melun and Montereau via Héricy.

  • Line U: traffic disrupted, expect 2 out of 3 trains.
