On the same day, a national round table on wages will be held with the management of the SNCF group. The CGT Cheminots intends to use this opportunity to obtain significant measures.
" The salary situation of railway workers continues to deteriorate. It is no longer tenable. We must obtain significant general salary increases! The national round table on May 31 must be placed under pressure from the railway workers! " explains the CGT Cheminots in a statement published on May 23, 2023. Among its demands? A general increase in wages, the integration of all elements of remuneration in the liquidating wage, or the indexation of wages of all railway workers on inflation.
The CGT Cheminots is therefore calling on railway workers " from all colleges and all functions " to strike on May 31, "the day of the national round table on the issue of wages ". It should be noted that this national notice has been filed from May 30, 2023 at 7:00 pm to June 1, 2023 at 8:00 am.
What about the three other union representatives at the SNCF (Unsa Ferroviaire, SUD Rail, CFDT Cheminots)? According to Le Parisien, they have decided not to join the movement, calling for a simple " rally " on May 31.
