By January 1, 2025, anyone owning a car with the little orange sticker, Crit'Air 3, will no longer be able to access the Greater Paris EPZ. If this applies to you and you occasionally visit the capital, the city of Paris plans to offer a"24-hour pass" for temporary access to this vast zone, bounded by the A86 motorway. You will only need to enter the zone between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., excluding weekends and public holidays.
David Belliard, deputy mayor of Paris, sees it as a"pass for light-duty drivers". Those with vehicles considered too old will be able to bring them 12 times a year, i.e. 12 days, for 24 hours. They will have to fill in a form "via a digital platform of the Metropole du Grand Paris", but automated controls and sanctions will not appear until 2026.
This measure has yet to be confirmed by the city council, as does that of new grants for professionals to help them change their vehicles for less polluting ones.
