Taking the RER B via Gare du Nord is set to be another difficult weekend. Work to replace the Saint-Denis railway bridge will once again disrupt train traffic on RER lines B and D, and Transilien lines H and K, from Friday February 21 to Monday February 24, 2025 inclusive. Transilien SNCF has announced.
So, what exactly can we expect on RER B? On this busy RER line, the interconnection will be suspended at Gare du Nord during the four days of work. To continue your journey, you'll need to change trains between the underground and above-ground tracks of the Paris station.
In detail, trains to CDG2 airport and Mitry-Claye from Gare du Nord will depart from the surface tracks, tracks 31 to 33. Trains to Robinson and Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse will leave from the underground tracks, track 44.
If you're planning to travel to Charles de Gaulle Airport, we advise you to take the Roissybus from Auber station, especially on Friday February 14 and Monday February 17.
Fewer trains will also be running during this period. " On working days: expect an average of 9 trains per hour on the north of the line and 12 trains per hour on the south of the line, as well as additional missions to and from the Denfert-Rochereau terminus ", reads the RER B blog.
" As a result, a lighter transport plan and the risk of heavy crowds in stations and on board trains are to be expected ", reads the RER B blog. Passengers are therefore invited, wherever possible, to postpone their journeys or plan for longer journey times, particularly on Friday February 21 and Monday February 24, 2025.
Unfortunately, this work will continue into the spring. Interconnection will therefore also be suspended at Gare du Nord from March 29 to 30 and from April 19 to 21, 2025. Please note that on March 29 and April 19, 20 and 21, traffic will also be interrupted between Aulnay-sous-Bois and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2, in both directions and all day long.
These major works in Saint-Denis are also having an impact on train traffic on RER line D and Transilien lines H and K. What are the consequences? Heavy traffic is expected on metro line 4.
