Once again this year, the Mandarin Oriental Paris celebrates the Chinese Lunar New Year in the elegant setting of its Bar 8 and illuminated patio. To mark the Year of the Snake, the palace on Rue Saint-Honoré pays homage to its roots by inviting you to discover China-Tivo, an Asian twist on the Italian aperitivo, perfect for toasting and nibbling in style before dinner, from Tuesday January 28 to Sunday February 2, 2025.
The menu features signature cocktails and Asian bites, to be savored as a ritual for a convivial start to the Lunar New Year.
As for cocktails, the mixologists don't go for half-measures: the KUMQUAT (a punchy mix of gin, kumquat and citrus cordial), the RICE (a delicate fusion of rice alcohol, Wakasé sake and cane sugar) and the MANDARIN (a fruity combination of mandarin liqueur, orange bitter and champagne).
And to accompany these tailor-made creations, fine bites are the order of the day: Beef Dim Sum, Pork Spring Roll and Chicken Bao are the winning trio, while a live cooking station will offer a steaming, tasty Peking duck, prepared before your very eyes (January 28).
The stage is set, but the show has only just begun! On Tuesday January 28, starting at 7.30pm, a DJ set will set the mood, and at 8.15pm, the mythical Lion Dance will set the evening alight. Can't make it that evening? Don't panic: you can enjoy China-Tivo until February 2, from 5.30pm to 8pm.
How much does it cost? 35€ for a cocktail and three appetizers. A great way to start the new year under the banner of prosperity, celebration... and taste!
