In April 2018, theInstitut du Monde Arabe(IMA) launched its first Comedy Weekend, an event showcasing French stand-up talent from immigrant backgrounds. This program quickly found its audience, then grew into theIMA Comedy Club, a multi-day comedy festival that brings together young talent and accomplished comedians on the stage of the Institut du Monde Arabe.
The festival celebrates its fifth edition, from January 31 to February 4, 2024. This year's edition is led by TarikSeddak, former artistic director of Studio Bagel, Golden moustache and the Jamel Comedy Club. He is joined by some twenty comedians and stand-uppers, all determined to make us laugh.
Relationships, culture clashes, everyday challenges, friends, family, love, money, current affairs... The subjects are as varied as the styles of these guests. The program features shows in French, but also in various Arabic dialects. Once again this year, the Institut du Monde Arabe is offering a queer and funny evening, with the "Habibi" program.
