There are 34 throughout France, but this is the only one in Paris! The high-tech cinema, ICE (Immersive Cinema Experience), is located at the CGR in Paris's 20th arrondissement, Porte des Lilas. This unusual spot offers cinema-goers a fully immersive cinema experience, thanks to a process they've developed: the ICE room for Immersive Cinema Experience. This arrangement combines the best technologies during the screening, immersing the spectator completely in the film. In terms of sound, you'll find Dolby Atmos sound through 54 speakers throughout the room, retransmitted in a circular pattern.
But above all, to create this special atmosphere, lumino-textile panels are placed on each side of the room, surrounding the spectator and creating an immersive vision. However, the images projected on these screens are not sharp, serving only to accompany the viewer's gaze and plunge him or her into the heart of the action. The image is projected onto the central screen using 4K lasers. In addition, projectors at the back of the room reflect some of the colors shown on the screen during the film.
The screens on the sides are a real plus for guiding the eye and creating that feeling of immersion in the film. The difference with Dolby Atmos sound is also noticeable, especially during action scenes with explosions or gunfire that will be felt right under your seat. Incidentally, you're sure to appreciate the comfort of the reclining leather seats as much as we do, which are also available as love seats for lovers. There's no doubt you'll love the ICE format, but it's best suited to action movies.
After your ICE Immersive screening, take a stroll through the Serge Gainsbourg garden, just 140 metres from the cinema, or plan a visit to the unusual Vampire Museum, a 7-minute walk from the CGR cinema. If the Museum of the Strange doesn't tempt you, head for the Cirque Electrique, also at Porte des Lilas, or enjoy a leisurely brunch at Benoit Castel, a pastry-bakery located at the Télégraphe metro station on line 11, one stop after Porte des Lilas.
