What began as a joke between friends to create a banana perfume is now, over 40 years later, one of France's most prestigious perfume brands.
L'Artisan Parfumeur was born when a friend of Jean Laporte's asked him to use his training as a chemist to create a banana fragrance to accompany a banana costume at the Folies Bergères ball. From chemist, Jean Laporte became a perfumer, and it wasn't long before perfume lovers began to gather around him, giving birth to L'Artisan Parfumeur. From Sur soi to Chez soi, it was an obvious extension for Jean Laporte, who then naturally proposed a universe for perfuming interiors, La Maison.
This takeover of the Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées atrium has been designed as a showcase to celebrate the expertise required to create all the products imagined by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Until October 7, 2024, the brand invites you to embark on an olfactory voyage and discover its flagship fragrances, as well as the entire La Maison universe: candles and their accessories, not forgetting the famous Boule d'Ambre.
First launched in 1976, the Boule d'Ambre is making a comeback this year. More than a simple terracotta object diffusing a home fragrance, the Boule d'Ambre is a true symbol of refinement, meticulously assembled in France.
Echoing the Boule d'Ambre, La Maison also unveils its new candles. Marked with the ex-libris of L'Artisan Parfumeur, they highlight a central, guiding ingredient such asincense, berries or fig. More than ever, scented objects are the promise of an interior we're eager to return to, and provide a second reading of a signature ingredient.
Discover the French art de vivre of L'Artisan Parfumeur in the atrium of Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elyséesuntil October 7, 2024.
