The Paris-Versailles-Mantes à la marche 2025, organized by the Association Sportive Mantaise (ASM), takes place this year on the night of January 25 to 2025. Since 1935, this emblematic event has brought together thousands of walkers, amateurs and enthusiasts, for an unusual night-time hike. With four routes to suit all levels, from 16 years upwards, this convivial experience is sure to please.
Every year, some 4,500 participants take part in this legendary walk, which links various starting points in Mantes-la-Jolie, at the Complexe Félicien Dantan. The routes range from 12 km to 54 km, each offering its share of challenges and discoveries. The most ambitious departure, at midnight from Versailles, promises a magical 54 km crossing. At 1 a.m., walkers from Beynes set off on a 39 km journey. For a shorter hike, meet at 6 a.m. in Maule for a 22 km route, or at 8 a.m. from Jumeauville for a 12 km accessible to all.
This night hike is not a competition. No ranking or medical certificate is required; the aim is to enjoy the experience in all simplicity. However, specific equipment is compulsory: a headlamp and reflective vest guarantee your safety along the route. And don't forget to wear shoes suitable for walking, as opposed to those used for running.
Prices are affordable and vary according to the route:
Coach services are also available to reach the departure points, with fares ranging from €8 to €13.
Why take part in Paris-Versailles-Mantes? The event is first and foremost an opportunity to meet new people and make new discoveries. Each walker receives a medal as a souvenir of his or her challenge, a symbolic reward for a night to remember.
Whether you're an avid hiker or simply curious about a different experience, this night walk is a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature and enjoy a collective adventure.
