This Saturday, March 8, 2025, many events invite Parisians to celebrate International Women's Rights Day, through exhibitions, demonstrations and solidarity running races! To mark the occasion, the Arènes et Stades association is organizing the Women's Rights Day Run, at the Jardins d'Eole, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
Three different distances are on the program: 2km, 4km or 6km, giving everyone the chance to do a bit of sport for free, for a good cause. And this year's event coincides with the 80th anniversary (1945-2025) of the first women's vote in France! The association's aim is"to show young girls and women the pleasure of practising sport in a relaxed atmosphere, and to encourage them to take part in the various activities available in their neighbourhood".
Statistics from the "Politique de la Ville" districts clearly show that young girls rarely take part in the extracurricular activities offered by municipalities, clubs and associations. Although the race is free of charge, prior registration is required at arenes-et-stades@orange.fr or on site, from 9 a.m., for the three races to start an hour later.
