The sounds of Brazil-France 2025! The Saison Brésil-France 2025 is a joint cultural initiative between France and Brazil to celebrate bilateral relations between the two countries. Organized by theInstitut français and theInstitut Guimarães Rosa, the season runs in two parts: from April to September in France, and from August to December in Brazil. The multi-disciplinary program includes exhibitions, shows, debates and concerts, highlighting the diversity and richness of Brazilian cultural expression.
Brazilian music, for its part, is the fruit of a complex cultural mix, incorporating African, European and indigenous influences. Emblematic musical genres include samba, bossa nova, forró, choro and música popular brasileira (MPB). Artists such as João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque have left their mark on Brazilian musical history, each making a significant contribution to the evolution of these genres.
This cultural season is an opportunity to discover an age-old musical culture, and to grasp every note, for a journey you won't soon forget!
