Artist Patrick Rimoux unveils his version of Notre-Dame de Paris in an original, free exhibition at Minsky Gallery from January 24 to March 22, 2025.

To mark the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral, Patrick Rimoux invites us to discover the Parisian monument in his own way. A light sculptor with a passion for cinema, the artist immerses us in his unusual creations, to be discovered free of charge at galerie Minsky, from January 24 to March 22, 2025.

The Notre-Dame de Paris exhibition features some twenty three-dimensional paintings, each over a metre high. These backlit cases show luminous backdrops composed from film stock.

Patrick Rimoux recreates the cathedral's decor, the great vaults, the rose windows... To achieve this, he called on many other artists, including Victor Hugo. For these luminous tableaux, Patrick Rimoux chose to work with films that tell the story of the novel Notre-Dame de Paris. In these images, famous characters linked to the monument, such as the Hunchback of Notre-Dame, can be seen in transparency. The French artist also used scenes from films set in the cathedral.

This exhibition pays tribute to the Parisian monument, its influence on culture and the legends that surround it. Visitors discover the cathedral in a new way, through luminous works steeped in history. These film fragments, linked to Patrick Rimoux's creations, give rise to new stories, which can be deciphered in each of the paintings on display.

The play of light, a specialty of the artist's, gives a new dimension to these architectural elements. The historic building becomes almost unreal, and the play of color and perspective gives the impression of entering a parallel world.

Don't miss this free, fascinating exhibition at the Minsky Gallery this winter.
