Built by Le Corbusier between 1947 and 1952, the Cité Radieuse was one of the major projects launched by the French Ministry of Reconstruction and Urban Planning in the aftermath of the Second World War. Designed according to the principle of "unité d'habitation", the Cité Radieuse built 337 apartments and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
