Do you know the Château de Chantilly and its Domain? Located 40 km from the center of Paris, 20 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport and 25 minutes from the Gare du Nord, the Domain is quite accessible for a getaway or for a weekend idea given the wealth of discoveries to be made there.
The Domaine de Chantilly is the work of Henri d'Orléans, the Duke of Aumale. Thanks to his precautions in his will, Chantilly remains today (a century later), a jewel box of preserved wealth. Indeed, as a great collector and without an heir, he bequeathed his property to the Institut de France under the condition that upon his death, the Musée Condé would be open to the public.
This is why today, the castle has kept its decoration and its period furniture. You will discover the only princely apartments of the July monarchy entirely preserved in France. Recently restored, do not miss to discover them within the castle.
The castle also has the second largest collection of ancient paintings after the Louvre and a prestigious collection of books including the famous "Très Riches heures du Duc de Berry".
But the Domaine de Chantilly is also a park of 115 hectares which includes flowerbeds designed by Lenôtre in the 17th century. We advise you to take a ride in a carriage to discover the extent of the domain or even a pedal boat ride for an exotic visit with a sublime view of the castle and the exceptional extent of its ponds. Count 10* for a 30 minute pedal boat ride or 19€ per hour and 25€ per hour for an electric cart for 2/4 people.

Of course, you can't miss a visit to the Grande Ecuries, considered the most beautiful and largest in Europe. You can discover the Horse Museum on the one hand, but also the superb equestrian show called Nature which combines technique, charm and acrobatics.
