Its construction was the result of a daring bet between Queen Marie-Antoinette and the Comte d'Artois. In just sixty-four days, the now iconic park and Château de Bagatelle, also known as Folie d'Artois, were erected. Now a listed historic monument, the challenge was to build it in less than three months. A challenge reminiscent of a certain cult film!

All around the Château de Bagatelle, the park unveils fascinating landscapes, including a magnificent English garden, a water mirror in which we can discover the reflection of a pagoda, the vegetable garden juxtaposed with the gardener's house, a Mediterranean garden and various water features housing mysterious grottoes and beautiful waterfalls. An enchanting setting that often gives us the impression of walking inside a painting. The Roseraie de Bagatelle, one of the oldest and largest in France, is also well known to enthusiasts.
