Commonly known as the "Hidden Garden", the garden at Le Centquatre is a small garden hidden in the shadow of this great building and artistic meeting place in the 19th arrondissement.
Here, people come to relax on the deckchairs, play with their families in the sandpit using shovels, rakes, dump trucks and wheelbarrows - generously provided by the site - or simply enjoy the calm of this place in the heart of Paris, which gives anything but that impression.
This island of freshness is tended all year round by the gardeners of 104, who grow a variety of aromatic and medicinal plants. During your visit, you'll have the chance to chat with these gardening professionals, and perhaps sample one of the plants and herbs, or pick a few sprigs to take home (remember to bring a small bag or basket with you!).
Throughout the year, the gardeners at 104 are not alone in their work: a class of students from Ecole Cugnot, in the 18th arrondissement, also comes to lend a hand - they even design the garden, prepare the planters and plant the seedlings - so that the site can be opened to all each summer.
The garden is open to the public free of charge from June 22 to September 22, 2024: it is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12pm to 7pm, and is freely accessible. If you come for a workshop, please note that they also welcome children (aged 6 and over), and that it's advisable to wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty. How about discovering this pretty garden hidden away in the 19th arrondissement?
