Forget your diet resolutions: East Mamma launches its Sunday brunch!
The trattoria of the Big Mamma family offers a new brunch menu from 10am to 4pm. On the menu: brunch classics (pancakes, eggs Benedict, avocado toast revisited) as well as the more original, such as polenta with mushrooms or sunday roast. And for those who aren't fans of Sunday brunch, don't panic: the inevitable pasta and pizza dishes are also on the menu.
We opt for two plates of pancakes (9€) (the fluffy pancakes with blueberries, raspberries, caramelized bananas and whipped cream and those with melting apple, crispy streusel and homemade chantilly), a polenta au gratin with mascarpone, mushrooms and wine sauce (13€), as well as an egg Benedict (11€), served on a generous slice of brioche and accompanied by baby spinach and Serrano ham.
After a long wait, our dishes arrive: appetizing, copious, with a tempting aroma, we attack without delay! We expected nothing less fromEast Mamma, but it's always good to remember: we're in for a treat! Quality and quantity are the order of the day, as one waiter pointed out, and rightly so.
However, it's hard to finish, and we're a little sorry we didn't get smaller portions so we could order more plates to share. In other words, fans of the classic brunch with viennoiseries and a thousand little things to munch on won't necessarily find what they're looking for. But it's delicious, and at a great price!
Last but not least, you'll find a warm welcome at East Mamma. As Mike, the restaurant's manager, points out, the aim is for customers to leave the stress outside for a warm and friendly moment, and whether or not you approve of the brunch format, it's a success!
