If you like pastry, you must know Cédric Grolet, the pastry chef of Le Meurice, famous for his fascinating cakes, and especially for his fruit sculptures! While his cakes were only served in the restaurants of Le Meurice, it is now possible to amaze your friends and family with his pastries, available to take away. You're sure to fall in love!

In the large family of great addresses that make Paris' gourmet reputation, I ask for Cédric Grolet at Le Meurice, who was finally voted best restaurant pastry chef in the world in October 2017 at the Les Grandes Tables du Monde gala.

While the Le Dali tea room is often sold out at tea time, there aren't many Parisians to be found, perhaps a desire to enjoy pastries in the parks or to share them at home.

The Meurice has realized how lucky it is to have a star pastry chef and is going to transform a former meeting room into a boutique on the rue de Castiglione, ideal for grabbing your favorite pastry between noon and night.

All day long, Cédric Grolet's brigade will animate the store: setting up and baking desserts in front of the window, cooking kouglofs (served at 5pm for the afternoon snack), small tastings, the Meurice really wanted to make this store the standard-bearer of French gourmet food.

Sculpted fruits, Paris-Brest, chocolate pie, koughof and cookies, we already feel that the counter will compete with Angelina, and we already know that we will often pass by to satisfy our sweet needs!

And that's not all, it will also be possible to recover family cakes which make the reputation of the chef: Saint-Honoré, apple pie, Rubik's Cube, finally, we will be able to share these delights at the Sunday meals. The only downside is that these cakes must be reserved 48 hours in advance, so it's impossible to go to the store and try to find one.

At the opening, this Tuesday, March 20 at noon, the chef pleased the foodies who came from all over the world, signing his book on Carved Fruits, offering photos and thanking the fans of the first hour (while we are the ones who should thank him!). A small emotional moment, his brigade was put forward, going out in the street for a crowd bath, them always in the shade.
