What is great when Fall is falling and the weather turns gray is that this is also teatime season again. And there is nothing nicer than going out at weekends, with your partner, friends, or mother, to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea. Among the best places in Paris, there is the Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, right by the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées. On site, pastry chef Quentin Lechat serves a very scrumptious teatime. Here is the Fall version featuring seasonal fruits.
Quentin Lechat’s teatime revolves in 4 acts. And may sweet-toothed foodies be rest assures, this is a very sweet afternoon tea that expects them. Let us start the enchanted break with a range of small pastries. We loved the fig tartlet that will be changed for another seasonal fruit. We loved the chocolate cookie and the very indulging and balanced chocolate chou pastry. They also come with a Gavotte stuffed with whipped cream and a few seasonal fruits.
Let us continue with La Perle – the chef’s now signature creation – in a blueberry version. Here is a milky and sweet creation delighting the kids we are. And it is followed by a small iced interlude to freshen up the taste buds.
The 3rd act is when the chef or his team steps in. Let us have the minute-made Tatin millefeuille, and freshly churned ice cream. Smooth and fresh, the dessert perfectly matched the buckwheat-apple mocktail served at the same time. Unusual and a bit sour, we are under its spell.
Let us continue with three travel cakes coming in a gorgeous sliding box. What a great idea to take it back home if the teatime was too hearty for you. Marble cake, flaky praline brioche, and Quentin’s staple flan in a praline version, you will love finishing them all, all cuddled up on your sofa.
And of course, pair them all with a hot beverage. We love the gorgeous list of teas. And if you are into fizzy drinks, go for some champagne. The teatime is served on Saturdays and Sundays, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., at the Bar Long. Allow €75 per person or €85 for the extra Champagne version.
