Whispered about in the highest circles, this Parisian address has all the makings of a chic gourmet getaway. Welcome to Ladurée Gravelle, the tea room-restaurant where French elegance blends with the bucolic charm of a former Napoleon III pavilion. An enchanted interlude in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes that would not have been out of place in a scene from The Bridgerton Chronicle.
As soon as you arrive, the charm takes hold. The pavilion, topped with a delicate metal lace, invites you to an elegant country snack, not far from the rustle of a small stream. But before you walk through the door, you'll probably be drawn into the address's garden. The landscape features a romantic rose bridge overlooking a pond, a wrought-iron gazebo where you can imagine yourself posing in a flouncy dress, and a flower-filled swing that invites you to be carefree. Three elegant photo spots to immortalize the magic of the place.
After parading among the flowers and wrought iron, head inside. Here, the pavilion is just as refined. Black and white checkerboard on the floor, powder-pink and pale-green armchairs, and flower-filled banquettes, all bathed in soft natural light filtering through the glass walls, offering a breathtaking view of the garden. At the entrance, the Ladurée boutique offers its famous sweets, to take away or enjoy on site.
At the far end, a more intimate room welcomes around fifteen guests around a marble fireplace and a library: the perfect place to whisper confidences by the firelight.
Let's move on to the plates. Our favorite is the Lobster Roll, a generous brioche roll topped with lobster, avocado, tomato confit and cebette, all caressed by a creamy-spicy sauce. It arrives escorted by irresistibly crispy sweet potato fries! TheAvocado toast with salmon, also twisted with Ladurée brioche and a soft-boiled egg, is just as attractive and tasty.
For those with a sweet tooth, Pain perdu Ispahan, scented with rose, lychee and raspberry, has a delightful visual appeal, although it lacks a hint of softness. And of course, it's hard for us to miss theassortment of macaroons, which set the table with new, colorful flavors. All accompanied by Viennese chocolate topped with a mountain of chantilly and ultra-fresh squeezed orange juice.
Every weekend, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the restaurant offers a brunch with live music.
Ladurée Gravelle is easily accessible by bus 77 from Joinville-le-Pont or Gare de Lyon (via RER A). In this bubble of serenity, lulled by birdsong and the rustle of trees, you'll find the ideal place for a brunch, tea time or lunch in the countryside, without leaving Paris.
An address to savour with your eyes and taste buds wide open!
