Easter is undoubtedly the most expected period of the year by gourmands and chocolate lovers, as well as by chocolate-makers because it’s the moment they’re filled with imagination.
For Easter 2020, Meilleur Ouvrier de France chocolate-maker Patrick Roger has come up with a very “cat-astic” collection.
This year, no chicken or rabbit. Patrick Roger sent them back to their coop.
He bets on cats. His “city cats and country cats” are filled with praline chocolates.
And there’s nothing quite like a ball of wool to entertain a cat, is it? The chocolate-maker also came up with – chocolatey – balls of wool that are colorful and filled with praline chocolates (a blend of almonds grown by the house in south of France and Piedmont hazelnuts).
But Patrick Roger doesn’t forget about the traditional Easter egg. In 2020, he designed artistic eggs but flat and filled with praline chocolates.
Based on pure Madagascan dark chocolate – as the other pieces of the Easter collections – these flat eggs are available raw or colored in green and in a set of one, two or three eggs.
As for the eggs, the ball of wools are made of dark chocolate. Yet, the cats, Roudou and Nénette, are also available as a milk chocolate version.
Patrick Roger’s tiny chocolates are based on dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Their very fine chocolate shells hold some delicious praline to die for and based on three recipes.
The bells are stuffed with crispy praline with almond and hazelnut, the little eggs are made of 100% hazelnut praline and shells and seafood hide some almond, hazelnut and nougatine praline.
You can get these chocolates on their own if you love praline.
And in the chocolate-maker’s windows, you can admire the “Rat des villes, rat des champs” sculpture, a work of art completing Patrick Roger’s Easter collection, to see only on site (it’s not available for sale).
