Seven years after their first restaurant on avenue de Wagram, the creators of The Place To, Valérie and Benoît Kistler, are opening a second venue in the capital, a stone's throw from Gare de l'Est. The new establishment draws its inspiration from the ecosystem of Paris's lively 10th arrondissement, designing its decor and quarterly menu.
The latest addition to The Place To, open since the beginning of June 2022, has been designed as a bright, friendly and welcoming space. Located directly opposite the station forecourt, from 8 a.m. to midnight, it welcomes travelers and strollers alike, and offers food and drink from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Certainly the future new HQ for many of you! Step through the doors of the coffee shop and take a seat in one of the different areas. Choose from the almond-green patio, open to the outdoors, the cosy lounge area with its leather armchairs, the quieter wooden swings or the bar with its industrial curves.
Flavors and gourmet delights are on the menu, with homemade dishes based on fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables. Meat is sourced locally.
For starters, the waiter suggests tapas to share ( or not): we enjoyed the Baba Ganoush/Grenade, a surprising blend of eggplant and pomegranate molasses, or the smoked hake with satay.
Thereafter, a dozen generous, modern dishes are listed from €16, but that's not counting the famous Classic Burger, which won the Socopa Cup in 2019! We tried it, and we understand why! Count on €17 for a single burger and €22 for double the pleasure.
For dessert, you'll love the green cheesecake with matcha green tea and strawberry caramel!
And don't forget the children's menu for families, at 15€, and the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch for 28€.
To top it all off, let yourself be tempted by the house's darling cocktail, the "Tsar 3", made with vodka, strawberry purée and champagne. Also on the menu is a fine selection of wines, but above all the two editions of beers created by the house and brewed in the Paris region.
And don't forget the Happy Hour from 5pm to 8pm!
